Virtual Museum of Art (VMA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Lauren Boles and based in Los Angeles, California. Our mission is to teach art education to high school students with Down syndrome. Our classes have been developed by a panel of parents of children with Down syndrome, educators, and students.

    Our students will learn how to analyze and appreciate the famous classic works of art, along with modern-day forms of art through film, music, painting, photography, drawing, and musical theater.

     VMA offers a schedule of virtual classes via Zoom. Each 45-60 minute class uses visual imagery, music, and live student interactions making learning about art fun and engaging.

 

      No preparation is required!  However, students will be asked to identify art they observe in their daily lives to share with the class that the beauty of art can be found all around us!
